Summary
In the fall quarter of 2008, the people (students) of the music business department at the Institute of Production and Recording (IPR) got together and decided to create a record label to put real musician/students in real life decision making situations regarding careers in the music industry. Student Run Records was created to meet and exceed these needs. Student Run Records is a functioning record label engaging in the signing of talent, the recording and mastering of original material, as well as promotion and graphic design. They also book and produce concert events; students involved are committed and driven.
Student Run is housed at a college in Downtown Minneapolis. The Institute of Production and Recording (IPR) is a fully equipped audio engineering school as well as an entertainment business college.
