5th Annual Southeast Urban Music Conference

The 5th Annual Southeast Urban Music Conference, titled "The Branding & Marketing of Urban Music", is set for June 27-30, 2007 as a celebratory tribute to Black Music Month. The Sheraton Hotel Downtown Atlanta will serve as host for the Conference.

There are spots for 8-10 performers at the SUMC and there are two spots reserved exclusively for Sonicbids artists. There will be performances at panel discussions, the Awards Dinner, and Indie Label Night. The SUMC will feature Urban, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Rap, Gospel, and Reggae performers. Selected bands will be given five complimentary general registrations to the conference and there are 1,000 goody bags available for selected artists. Performing bands will also have a chance to be included on a sponsored compilation CD.

There will be power packed seminars with information on distribution, how to secure sponsorship, an A&R panel, music publishing, marketing, and the list goes on and on. There will also be major label sponsored showcases, as well as independent label showcases, the Annual SUMC Awards Dinner, and plenty of networking. The first confirmed sponsor for this year's event is Heineken, with several others on the way.
