Summary

SummerSounds (formerly Greensburg Concerts in The Park) is in its 9th year as an eclectic outdoor music series noted for consistently high-quality performers. SummerSounds is produced in a natural amphitheater in St. Clair Park in downtown Greensburg, about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh. The performances are held every Friday evening at 7 pm from June - August. The usual attendance is 1,000 - 2,500 people of which about half are families, so the audience is made up of all ages.

The series is produced entirely by volunteer music lovers on behalf of the City of Greensburg. Artists are paid a negotiated and fair fee. The format is "an evening with" each band, so artists should have between two and two and a half hours of good material. There are at least 14 shows during the series and last year six Sonicbids bands were selected to perform.

Past performers include Chris Smither, The Iguanas, LUCE, Mary Gauthier, Slaid Cleaves, Big Sandy, The Biscuit Burners, The Good Rats, Seven Nations and Last Train Home. The series is funded by grants and sponsorships and this yearÂ’s major sponsors are Comcast and Dollar Bank.
