Summary

SummerSounds™ is in its 10th year as an eclectic outdoor music series noted for consistently high-quality performers. SummerSounds is produced in a natural amphitheater in St. Clair Park in downtown Greensburg, about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh. The performances are held every Friday evening at 7 PM, June through August. Average attendance is about 1,500, sometimes 3,000. Audience is all ages and performers must be “family friendly.” Check out the web site to get an idea of the range of music to see if you'll be appropriate.

The series is produced entirely by volunteer music lovers on behalf of the City of Greensburg. Artists are paid a negotiated and fair fee. They often can feed and house touring bands. The series is funded by donations and sponsorships. The format is "an evening with" each band, so artists should have between two and two and a half hours of good material. There are at least 13 shows during the series and last year six Sonicbids artists were selected to perform.

Past performers have included Chris Smither, The Iguanas, Blue Highway, Mary Gauthier, Slaid Cleaves, Big Sandy, The Biscuit Burners, The Good Rats, Guggenheim Grotto and Last Train Home.

Please don't wait until the last minute to submit as they review all year long, begin booking in November and usually finish by March. If you submit early, they'll have much more time to review your music. Keep in mind that rap doesn't fly here and, unless you’re Chris Smither, singer-songwriters will need a backing band.
