Summary
Southern Illinois University Carbondale presents the Sunset Concerts Series, an annual outdoor Summer event, reeling in close to 2,000 attendees for each show. Performances take place on Thursday nights during June and July, and feature a different genre on each night.
Artists from blues, reggae, college rock, pop, bluegrass, oldies, and related genres are encouraged to apply. The crowd is electric and appreciative, all eager to hear some talented musicians. Not to mention, the event is in its 34th Summer and is still going strong. Participants are welcome to bring their own alcohol to this popular celebration
Benefits for Selected Artists:
- Artists will be compensated $1,500 to $1,800.
- Artists will receive lodging, if coming from out of town.
- Exposure while performing live in front of 2000 people.
Currently, seven Thursday evenings, beginning June 14, 2012 through to July 26, 2012 are being booked. This is the perfect opportunity for an artist to receive great exposure and to also have an awesome time.
