Summary

Southern Illinois University Carbondale hosts the Sunset Concerts Series, a community/University sponsored summer outdoor concerts series in Carbondale, Illinois. Performances take place on Thursday nights during June and July featuring a different genre each night. The series usually attracts over 2000 students and community members.



The crowds love to dance, and blues, reggae, college rock, zydeco/cajun, country/bluegrass, oldies, and folk acts are encouraged to submit. Artists will be compensated for their performance with an amount ranging from $1,000-$2,000 plus hotel. The school is most interested in touring acts within their price range.



Each concert consists of two fifty minutes sets. and the crowds loves to dance to the live music. Concerts are held at two different alternating locations- Shryock Auditorium Steps on the campus of SIU and Turley Park, located on the west side of town. It is the event of the summer!
