Founded in March of 1979, in Denver, Swallow Hill Music Association began as an outgrowth of the Denver Folklore Center, a music store providing lessons and performances. This nonprofit organization seeks to make the live enjoyment of folk music a vital part of cultural life in Denver and the surrounding areas while also serving as a regional resource for the preservation and enjoyment of this music. From these humble beginnings, Swallow Hill has grown to become the second largest roots, folk and acoustic music school and concert organization in the United States.
