Summary

The Sweet Auburn Springfest 2008 is a family event with an expected attendance of between 350,000 to 500,000 people. It will be held May 9-11, 2008 in the Historic Sweet Auburn District of Downtown Atlanta, Georgia (festival area is 8 city blocks).



The festival attendees cover a wide cross-section of residents and visitors, however the festival is viewed mainly as a family event. There is an activity at the festival for every member of the family. Venues include 10 Stages of Continuous Entertainment and many exciting venues and attractions. Artist including Usher, Outkast, India Irie, Raven Symone and many others fine toned thier skills on the festival stages.



Most entertainers appear on a promotional basis. The Sweet Auburn Springfest will provide a minimum of 5 slots for Sonicbids performers.



In addition to traditional festival offerings, the Sweet Auburn Springfest will highlight world cultures with such attractions as "Taste of the World," offering foods from the seven Continents, and an International Film Festival featuring African-American, American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian/Indian and African films.



Also expanding in 2008 is the Car and Bike Show: Cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles featured, with trophies awarded to three winners in each category; and a Business and Technology Expo: Goods and services offered to business owners and home office workers. Returning activities include the Arts and Literature Market, the Dream Home Showcase, NBA Nation, with a chance to meet pro players, the Largest Outdoors Health & Fitness Fair and the Fantastic Family Fun Zone.



Also featured will be the Just For Women's Expo, Street Performers, and the $2 for 2 Campaign to raise money for Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless and Sweet Auburn Springfest 2008. This festival is a shot in the arm for businesses in the district and it's an opportunity for the institutions to showcase what they do.
