The Right Track: Tunes to TargetCancer is a series of concerts, events, and bi-annual music download opportunities to help raise funds for rare and underfunded cancers. Local, independent, and national artists donate unreleased songs for download exclusively on The Right Track. Artists including Weezer, Ween, The Donnas, Cowboy Junkies, Buffalo Tom, Joe Pernice, State Radio, Tracy Bonham, David Wax Museum, Kay Hanley, and more have lent their music to this important cause, raising thousands of dollars for critical cancer research.

A minimum of 2 Sonicbids artists will have their tracks selected for download on the site alongside internationally acclaimed artists. Previously selected Sonicbids artists include: Kate Leahy, Sonnyboy,
Rhian Benson, Late Cambrian, and Casey Desmond.

One hundred percent of all submission revenue from this listing and all donations go directly to research for these rare diseases. Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Spin, Stereogum, and many others hail The Right Track as a novel and exciting new opportunity for music fans to hear rare music while supporting the fight against rare cancers.

TargetCancer was founded by Paul Poth, a Boston-based attorney and devout music fan. In 2007, at age 38, Paul was diagnosed with hepatobiliary duct cancer, a form of cancer so rare that no treatment protocol existed for it. Instead, Paul’s doctors had to determine a course of treatment based on other cancers. It was this fact that drove Paul to create TargetCancer. After fighting for close to two years, Paul passed away in August 2009, but his fight lives on through TargetCancer and The Right Track series. "Not one of us will escape being touched by cancer in some way," says TargetCancer’s Director and President, Kristen Palma, who was married to Poth. "We are so grateful to all of these amazing artists for understanding this, for sharing their talents, and for joining with TargetCancer as we work towards finding a cure."

TargetCancer promotes the development of lifesaving treatment protocols for rare cancers. Through fundraising, outreach, and advocacy, TargetCancer supports those living with rare cancers and funds research initiatives at the forefront of cancer treatment – efforts that treat the individual as well as the disease.
