Summary

Texas State University-San Marcos, located halfway in between Austin and San Antonio, enrolls over 28,000 female students and is accepting submissions for performances during the 2008-2009 school year. As members of APCA, they usually book acts one semester in advance and offer several opportunities. Rock, pop, and R&B acts are encouraged to submit- no Texas country or metal, please.



Events: The Homecoming Concert in the fall and Riverfest Spring Concert are both seeking headlining acts for performances. These events take place in a park next to the river on campus, and accommodate up to 3,000 attendees. Artists will be compensated with a negotiable amount inclusive of travel and lodging.


Poetry Slams: Spoken word series takes place once every 2-3 weeks. Artists will be compensated an average of $200 for their performance.



Comedy Series: The comedy series brings comedians to campus every semester, with performances taking place in the Evans Auditorium or campus Theater (capacity of 300-500). Artists will be compensated with a negotiable amount.



General Bands: Bands are presented on various dates throughout the year, including the Texas State University’s Battle of the Bands. Local and regional acts are welcome to submit, and selected artists will be compensated for their performances with an average of $100-$300.
