Texas Urban Music Summit 4

The fourth annual Texas Urban Music Summit will be held at the luxurious Crowne Plaza Hotel in beautiful downtown Houston, TX on August 25-28, 2011. The Texas Urban Music Summit 4 is set to surpass in both attendance and influence that of the previous three events combined. They will be offering free registration for 2 Sonicbids artists. They have several informative panels, including the "Knowledge Is Power" panel featuring industry heavyweights as panelists and a forum titled "Where Do We Go From Here" discussing the state of the union in hip-hop & urban music from "The Female Prespective". Other highlights include the Grand Hustle & Flow Artist Showcase "Texas UMS Edition", a book signing for the book titled "Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind & Naked" with special appearance by author Malice from The Clipse, iStandard Producers Showcase, and Trae Tha Truth/ABN Listening Suite hosted by Trae Tha Truth. A. Steele Unlimited will also present its first artist hip-hop/ R&B sensation Storii Jones debuting "The Greatest Storii Ever Told". The conference features 10 performances, with at least 1 performance from a Sonicbids artist.

This year’s theme is "Honoring & Respecting the DJ" A. Steele Unlimited, IDJ Mp3 Blast, Fiya Works Entertainment and HV Films will present the DJ Honors ceremony and airing of the documentary "Behind the Turn Table". The ceremony will also have a special tribute to DJ Screw and Jam Master J and honor nine influential DJs: the Father of Hip-Hop DJ Kool Herc, Greg Street, DJ Dime Piece, TJ Chapman-TJs DJs/B.O.B's manager, Nina 9, DJ Scratch, Tony Neal- Core DJs, Hi C- Go DJs, and DJ Drop- Definition DJs. Each night will end with an after party at a secret location. A plethora of celebrities representing music, television, film, comedy, fashion, and sports are already confirmed.
