THE COOK - Song Licensing for Comedy/Horror Film

The creators of THE COOK are looking for artists in a variety of genres to be a part of their upcoming Horror/Comedy film entitled THE COOK. There are spots for up to five songs and there is one spot reserved for Sonicbids artists.

THE COOK is a “B” comedy-horror film in the vain of Sorority House Massacre, Sleep Away Camp (Parts 1-3), Evil Toons & Halfway House.

Over a long holiday weekend, unable to escape the confines of their sorority house, a handful of unsuspecting girls are left behind to enjoy the weekend. Their normal house staff, including the chef, are all on holiday, leaving them to fend for themselves. Thankfully someone was kind enough to send them a temporary replacement to cook their meals. When they start disappearing one-by-one they begin to suspect something may not be quite right with...THE COOK. Where your next meal could be your last.

THE COOK will pay a flat license fee of $600 for use of the selected song in the film, in all media, in advertising and on any soundtrack. Additionally, performance royalties will be paid on any broadcast. Standard record & mechanical royalties will paid for use on the soundtrack.

Any song appearing in the film would also appear on any film soundtrack created. Distribution will be secured after post production is completed (end of March) and it is expected the film will go straight to DVD.

About the Executive Producers:

Rene is a music producer who produced the theme song to the animated WB show “Mucha Lucha”, and had a track featured on the “About A Boy” soundtrack. Most impressively Rene is a three time GRAMMY winner in 2005 for his production work on “Dejate Amar” by the group Intocable. He is also serving as the film's Music Supervisor.

Nick most recently served as the Director of Music Marketing for Warner Bros. Studios where he marketed & promoted soundtracks such as Superman Returns, Batman Begins and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. He has since left the studio system to return to his roots and produce THE COOK.

Two scenes require music -

1. Bunny Does Exercises - One of the two female leads (obsessed with working out), works up a sweat to music, before being interrupted by her sorority sister.
The producers are looking for a Pop, Dance tune for this scene. Something along the lines of Ian Van Dahl "Castles In The Sky" , Benassi Bros "I love My Sex". Bunny is somewhat absent minded, bubbly, fun and loves to get physical (work out).

2. Anastasia Plays with Kristin - This particular sorority sister has a fascination with her dark side and loves to dominate. Here she has tied up her willing prey, the virginal and religious minded Kristen. It's taken half the movie, but she's finally wooed her. The producers are looking for a Punk, Alternative song for this scene. Something along the lines of My Bloody Valentine "Only Shallow", Jesus and Mary Chain "Something's Wrong", The Raveonettes, The Ramones, XTC. Anastasia is dark, wild and uninhibited.
