Summary

The Great Boston Burlesque Exposition will take place Friday, March 21, 2008 through Sunday, March 23, 2008 at The Cambridge Hyatt Regency, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is the premiere burlesque event in the northeast. This weekend-long event provides a venue for performers, fans, educators, and vendors to meet each other for training, shows, special events, and – of course – shopping.



Please note- Submissions are currently being accepted for burlesque dancers/performers only.



They welcome applications from burlesque performers of all styles and experience levels, whether you consider yourself a professional or an amateur. Less experienced burlesque performers will be invited to perform in The Newcomer's Showcase on the evening of Sunday, March 22, 2008. Other burlesque performers will be competing in The Main Event on Saturday, March 22, 2008.



A wide variety of prizes are awarded in multiple categories as part of The Main Event, including Most Classic, Most Beautiful, Most Humorous, Best Soloist, Best Costume, Best Troupe/Duet, and more.



Only 25 applicants will be accepted into The Main Event. Performances should be no longer than 6 minutes, including set-up and take-down. All submissions are juried. Judges for the live events include Burlesque Legends and last year’s winners.



Friday, March 21:

A burlesque spectacular featuring invited performers from around the world and hosted by a cadre of burlesque legends. The show is followed by a pool party!



Saturday, March 22:

  • The Vintage Fashion Fair opens!

  • Classes all-day!

  • Special events and exhibits!

  • In the evening, The Main Event! Twenty-five world-class burlesque performers battle it out for fabulous prizes!



    Sunday, March 23:

  • The Vintage Fashion Fair continues!

  • Even more classes & special events!

  • In the evening it's The Newcomers' Showcase, spotlighting the rising stars of burlesque, followed by The Sideshow Ball for the weird and wonderful performers! Two shows, only one ticket!



    Dancers and troups- It's easy to build your EPK! Include your bio, pictures, video, calendar and music you like to use during your performance. It's a great promotional and booking tool for yourself.
