Summary

The Grind is a coffeehouse series presented by CAB at Maryville University of Saint Louis. Generally speaking, The Grind is presented once-a-month from September through February or March every academic year. The event is held on campus and generally features acoustic music. Performers perform original or cover music and range from guitar-style to piano-style and everywhere in between.



The performers are expected to be able to perform high quality music while entertaining, interacting with, and engaging the audience. Past performers include Jason LeVasseur, Ross Coppermann, Blu Sanders, Shevy Smith, Dave Tamkin, and more.



Compensation for The Grind does not exceed $1,500 but is generally more in the $1,000 range. Lights and staging is provided. Limited sound abilities are available; it is preferred for performer to provide sound. Accommodations and a meal are also available as forms of compensation.



Please note: CAB plans on a semester-by-semester basis; planning the fall semester in the preceeding spring/summer and the spring semester in the preceeding fall.
