Summary

The Harvest Rebellion is an annual music festival celebrating and showcasing a diverse blend of music, art, freedom of expression, and community. The festival provides a public forum for independent musicians, fans, and creative minds all of types to explore and enjoy non-violence, respect for the earth and our place on it, and a concern for others through music, education and community empowerment.



The Harvest Rebellion will be at Tompkins Square Park in New York City on Saturday October 10th, 2009. Join us for this free event featuring a diverse lineup of musicians, speakers, and advocacy groups.



The Harvest Rebellion features eight artists, with at least four performance slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances at a rate to be determined upon selection and booking. Artists will also receive products, services, and items free of charge from the festival sponsors.



Most genres are accepted, including alternative, bluegrass, blues, cajun/zydeco, Celtic, electronic, experimental, folk/traditional, freestyle, funk, gothic, indie, jazz, jam band, metal, novelty, punk, rap/hip hop, reggae, rockabilly, rock, ska, soul/R&B, swing, spoken word, comedy, and world.



This public event will also feature guest speakers from Farm Sanctuary and Food Not Bombs who will provide information, educate and gain support.



The Harvest Rebellion is presented by Gary Gaskin, Digitone, Sonicbids, and The Shadow.
