The Next Movie Classic

The Next Holiday Classic is a free internet song contest for original holiday and seasonal songs. TNHC showcases songs that may not always be "cutting edge" according to current music trends, but rather, may stand the "test of time" for years to come. Artists may submit entries and compete for a First Place award of $300 as well as the opportunity to be presented to major label recording artists for inclusion on their 2011 holiday projects./n/nThe Next Movie Classic is a new, free internet song contest that seeks songs relating to traditional movie plots and stories. With a wide range of lyric themes and musical styles that would be appropriate, (adventure, fun, heroism, humor, goodbye, hope, love, mystery, reflection, reunions, etc,) TNMC will feature memorable songs that may not always be "cutting edge" according to current music trends, but rather, may stand the "test of time" for years to come.



Artists are invited to submit their song entries and compete for a first place award of $300 as well as the opportunity to be presented to major label recording artists as well as film and television music supervisors for inclusion on their 2011 projects. Any further licensing consideration that occurs as result of contest will be 50/50 split with artist. Artist will retain all rights.



During each of the three consecutive semi-final weeks beginning April 3, 2011, online voters will determine which songs will advance to the final. The final will then be held the week of April 24, 2011 and the winner of The Next Movie Classic 2011 will be announced May 5, 2010.

• The Next Movie Classic (TNMC) song contest is open to songwriters, lyricists and composers who have not earned over $5,000 in songwriting royalties during the past calendar year.


• Entries must be written or co-written by entrant. All entries submitted must be original songs and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.


• Songs may have multiple co-writers, but only one name should be designated on the entry form.


• Entrants may submit up to three (3) original recorded songs online to be considered for the contest.


• Lyrics must be included and in English.


• Songwriter entrants must own all rights to both the song and the recording entered.

Prizes

• 1st place winner will receive US $300 cash.


• 2nd Place winner will receive $150 cash.


• 3rd place winner will receive $100 cash.


• Remaining finalists will receive a $25 Amazon gift certificate.


• Qualified songs selected by Springbarrel Songwriter Services will receive 1 year (12 months) of active song promotion and development. ($1800 value).
