Musician's Friend Token Listing - Free Submission. This 2nd annual Battle of the Bands at the Oxford Fairgrounds is back this year, and it's bigger, better, badder and more rockin'. Last year, about 20 bands from across the US competed for the champion title in front of over 50,000 festival goers. This year, the competition is looking for country and southern rock artists and there is 1 reserved competition slot for Sonicbids artists. The battle of the bands will be held from September 11th - 17th, 2011./n/nThis 2nd annual Battle of the Bands at the Oxford Fairgrounds is back this year, and it's bigger, better, badder and more rockin'. The battle of the bands will be held from September 11th - 17th, 2011.



The Prizes:



  • 1st Prize: $25,000

  • 2nd Prize: $7,500

  • 3rd Prize: $2,500


Bands who make it into the live competition will perform live at the festival grounds. The judging will take place in two segments. First, each band will be given a day and time to play at a venue in Oxford, ME a 45 minute set. This set must be a mix of covers and original music (at least 3 songs must be originals). At the end of each day, judges will tally scores and the winners will return on Saturday to play for the grand prize.



Backline/drum-kit/lights/sound/stage are provided at the venue, but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and any additional equipment. There will also be a trailer available for changing purposes and water is also provided. Each band will be able to bring in 1 vehicle unless special arrangements are made.
