PLAY: The Pinch (DC)

Come showcase your musical talents at The Pinch! We are a joint serves creative pub grub & craft brews in a laid-back setting with karaoke & trivia and live music. 

We're looking for Sonicbids artists to fill Friday gigs this winter. We also have Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Pinch has more dates available than those listed. If you're interested in playing the venue, apply and we'll send you availabilities that fit your band. 

Generally, The Pinch books shows through an established local band or through a promoter that can bring a bill of 3 to 5 bands to play 3 to 4 hours of music. The Pinch has a good size performance space, our typical successful shows draw between 50-100 people. Our venue does not have a large walk-in audience so it is inherent that the bands promote the show and follow sound booking practices to ensure a good turnout. 

The Pinch usually books around 6 weeks in advance. 

• The Pinch books a variety of types of artists, including Rock, Metal, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Electronic, Latin, Folk, Country, Classical, Christian, Alternative, and World Music. We also book Comedy and Spoken Word acts 
• All Ages venue, but prefer shows with a healthy 21+ turnout, as a bar we rely on alcohol sales  
• We offer a full menu of classic bar fare, so if you have a show of younger audience members we would appreciate you encouraging them to purchase food items so that we can continue to keep shows All Ages in the future 

• The Pinch requires a $150 fee from the promoter/bands to book a show
• $100 covers use of house PA and a sound tech for the evening with the remaining $50 being room rental fee
• Promoters/bands are free to provide their own PA and sound tech and avoid the $100 fee. Please let The Pinch know at least three weeks before your show if you require a sound tech for your show
• Promoters/bands may provide their own sound person or the Pinch can provide one for an additional $65. 
• Capacity 75-150
  

• Typically up to the promoters/bands to run the door at The Pinch if you choose to charge a cover
• Whatever cover is charged is yours to keep a split amongst the promoter/bands as you see fit (after the $150 fee)
• Bartenders will handle checking ID’s, the door persons’ responsibilities only include money collection.
