Summary

The Purple Fiddle Cafe, Brews and Stage prides itself on upholding a safe, family-friendly environment where people of all-ages can enjoy a high-quality live show in a smoke-free and intimate environment (capacity about 150). They charge a cover at the door that pays for performing bands, most of whom are touring and playing nationally.

The venue plays host to old-time, alt-country, traditional, Americana and folk but also encouraged a variety of other genres, as long as the songs are family friendly and the volume is not ear-piercing. Acoustic-based dance bands are a favorite and will get the best dates. Genres The Purple Fiddle does not host are heavy rock and punk, any overly electronic or urban-sounding bands, mainstream pop or country, or overtly Christian music (their customers are of all denominations).

Bands wishing to play a Friday or Saturday need to come with at least three musicians and should be of a high-energy and danceable variety. In addition, bands must be prepared to play at least 100 minutes of original material (divided into two sets).

Again, The Purple Fiddle encourages families to bring their children to the shows no matter what their age (children under 12 are admitted free). This is a great opportunity for bands, whether traveling or local, to perform in a welcoming environment, where the music is strongly appreciated.
