Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to the 2011 Steamtown Original Music Showcase- storming back into downtown Scranton on September 4, 2011. The Showcase will select TWO Sonicbids artists to perform for this year’s festivities. A minimum of $150 payment or lodging with food allowance will be provided to selected artists. All selected artists also receive VIP Showcase Passes which allow entry to all participating venues. VIP Passes also allow access to clinics and panels./n/nThe Steamtown Original Music Showcase is storming back into downtown Scranton on September 4, 2011. The goal of S.O.M.S is to hold a musical event for the community that raises music awareness and acknowledgment of local, regional, and national talent. The event, now going on its fifth year, is offering more to music lovers and business owners than ever before all contained right in the downtown area of Scranton, PA.

Previous acts for past showcase’s include bands such as Nowhere Slow, OurAfter, Panacea, Hierosonic, BOB, Graces Downfall, The Silentreatment, And The Moneynotes, Zelazowa, Lemongelli, The Underground Saints, Jason O and Tom Graham.



The S.O.M.S focuses on networking of Artists directly to regionally respected promoters, press editors, and talent buyers so that they may develop not only in N.E.P.A., but also in other regional markets.



The Showcase will feature a majority of talent buyers and promoters from a five state region on the hunt for new talent to bring into their markets along with local club owners and promoters searching for new talent for the N.E.P.A. Region. Individuals expected to attend this showcase include local and regional radio promoters, Vince Volz of Double V Booking (Philadelphia, PA), Ed Brennan (Regional Radio Promoting for Wind-Up Records), Kato Kwandahala (Award Winning Record Producer/Engineer/and Songwriter for House of Loud Studios whose credits include Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Forever the Sickest Kids, and Paramore) and many more.



Other features include a special Drum Clinic with Chad Szeliga of Breaking Benjamin who will demonstrate new drum techniques and products.
