The Tinder Box (Brattleboro, VT)

The Tinder Box is an anti-profit, pro-dance, volunteer run space in Brattleboro, Vermont. Accepted genres include punk rock, folk, blues, experimental, indie, noise, acoustic, spoken word, etc. In essence, just make it original.



Most standards of the punk rock show are in effect: shows are all ages, there is no drinking, and admission is by donation. They do not offer guarantees, but they do split the door with out of town bands. Bookings are typically done for weekends, with 3-5 artists per evening.



There is a PA, mixer, 3 microphones, and stands. A volunteer who has used the PA system before will be available to help you with sound. At most shows a set is 30 to 45 minutes. If they set up a show for you and you don't have a local draw, there might not be anyone at your show.



The Tinder Box is comprised of a dedicated group of artists, musicians, wingnuts, dreamers and do-ers looking to make Brattleboro the Awesome! Capital of Vermont. They book all types of bands, but they've got to have heart. Past performers have included Defiance Ohio, The Can Kickers, Mischief Brew, USA Is A Monster, Witch, The Devil Makes Three, Cars Can Be Blue, and a lot more.
