Artists compensation starts at $100 per 45 minute set./n/nThe Works Art & Design Festival is a 13 day event that showcases a wide variety of emerging and professional talent from numerous genres. In 2009, approximately 290,000+ people attended. With 80 performances by 60+ diverse bands, this event is sure to bring in a great crowd. The Works will fill up to 30 slots with artists who submit online through Sonicbids! Artists compensation starts at $100 per 45 minute set.



The Works is accepting applications to perform LIVE on The Works Street Stage located on Sir Winston Churchill Square. Selected bands will perform to a distinctive festival audience with exposure to the media. The Works extended marketing campaign and media partners include Global TV and The Edmonton Journal.



Selected artists who perform on The Stage will receive benefits of exposure to the Festival audience, promotion in The Works marketing campaign and the value of being associated with the largest FREE festival of its kind in North America. Set times for traveling acts are negotiable.



Past performers include Shout Out Out Out Out, Red Shag Carpet, Kyle Riabko, Swing Manuche, Ben Sures, Mad Dog Blues, Curtis Santiago, Illfit Outfit, Christian Hansen and the Autistics, Hot Panda, Cripple Creek Fairies, Mother Mother, The Secretaries, The Mitts, The Wheat Pool, Gateway Big Band, F+M, Cockatoo, AA Sound System, Souljah Fyre, The Uncas, Hot Little Rocket, Marshall Lawrence, Terry Morrision, Kat Danser, Will Cramer and many more.



Sponsors include: Edmonton Journal, Global TV, Big Rock Breweries, Epcor, Enbridge, Edmonton Arts Council, Canadian Heritage, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Edmonton Downtown Business Association and DDB.



The Works will celebrate its 25th Anniversary June 25 to July 7, 2010 and will continue to provide exciting entertainment for all ages and musical and artistic tastes, plus a variety of food, shopping, artist demonstrations, art exhibits, lectures, children's activities and special events.
