The Works Art & Design Festival 2013

The Works Art & Design Festival is a 13 day event that showcases a wide variety of emerging and professional talent from numerous genres. In 2012, approximately 359,000+ people attended. With 80 performances by 60+ diverse bands, this event is sure to bring in a great crowd. The Works will fill up to 30 slots with artists who submit online through Sonicbids. Artists compensation starts at $100 per 45 minute set.

The Works is accepting applications to perform LIVE on The Works Stage located on Sir Winston Churchill Square. Selected bands will perform to a distinctive festival audience with exposure to the media. The Works extended marketing campaign and media partners include Global TV and The Edmonton Journal.

Bands from out of town should be sure to plan ahead. The Works will accommodate tour schedules and will gladly accept applications from out of province/country. There are many opportunities in Edmonton and Alberta to book additional gigs during the Festival dates. At this time there hotel and food accommodations cannot be provided by The Works.



Selected artists who perform on The Stage will receive benefits of exposure to the Festival audience, promotion in The Works marketing campaign and the value of being associated with the largest FREE festival of its kind in North America. Set times for traveling acts are negotiable.



The Works will provide a professional sound system, sound technician, drum kit and bass amp. It is your responsibility to bring any other equipment that you require. Provide all sound requirements on the stage plot.



All artists are welcome to have their CD available for purchase for all 13 days of the Festival in The Works Information tent. All CD's must be received by June 7, 2013. CDs and an inventory list must be delivered to The Works Office by June 7, 2013. A 20% commission fee will be retained by The Works Art & Design Festival. The Works will NOT accept CD inventory that is not priced with an inventory sheet and individually priced/ticketed.

The Works will celebrate its 28th Anniversary and will continue to provide exciting entertainment for all ages and musical and artistic tastes, plus a variety of food, shopping, artist demonstrations, art exhibits, lectures, children's activities and special events.
