Summary
The Toronto Independent Music Awards is an opportunity for bands from the GTA and beyond to gain exposure and recognition in this terrific music market. Judges from the local music industry will evaluate all submissions and scores will be compiled. Categories range from jazz to hardcore and the top 5 rated artists in each musical category will become the nominees in that category. You do not have to have a professional recording; the judges are listening for song quality, not technological superiority!
The award show, to be held October 5 at the Phoenix in Toronto, will include the presentation of more than 20 awards and performances from 10 artists from all genres of music. Nominees will receive complimentary tickets to the show and tickets will be available to the public for $20. This is a celebration of the local music scene on a grassroots level!
In addition, live showcases for Best Live Band nominees will take place in June, July and August at a venue to be determined. Sponsors at this time include The Eye Magazine, Sonicbids, Jet Speed Records, LIVE Magazine, Musician and CFRE Radio and Vibrating Needle.
PLEASE NOTE: To enter, at least one member of your band MUST be Canadian with the exception of Best International Music category applicants.
