Summary

Western Carolina University is located in Cullowhee, North Carolina near the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains, and is fifty-two miles west of Asheville. Every summer, they host a Summer Concert series on the UC Lawn for the students taking summer school classes and the community at large. Shows are presented on most Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July at 7pm and have roughly anywhere between 100 - 150 people per show in attendance.

Each summer, WCU hosts 10-12 acts total. All genres are accepted, however, the audience primarily prefers rock, bluegrass, acoustic performances, funk, and folk. Every year, they host Jamaican foreign exchange students in July, so reggae is also encouraged. A full sound system is provided.

Local and regional acts are preferred. Artists will be compensated for their performance with a negotiable amount ranging from $400-$800 inclusive of travel. Lodging and one meal on the night of the performance are also provided.
