Summary

This event is open to both British and international acts.

If you’ve got finger poppin’ soul, righteous Motown groove, British Invasion sound, Garage rock, proto punk, girl pop, Americana, southern fried rock, country roots, 50’ RnB, 50’s rock and roll, swing, be bop, hot jazz, know how to boogie, blues, jive, if you can lay down funk like JB, or have the hot acid jam down ala Jimmy Smith on LSD, Soulive, Booker T, the Meters, if you have two tone ska, blues rock, pop rock, or you are influenced by any or all of these genres, we want to hear from you.

Bands and soloists outside of Britain, here’s your chance to bring the roots of rock back to the source of the British invasion with festival dates at the Liverpool Blues and Roots Festival, 7 hot showcases around Britain and another festival date at the Glasgow Blues and Roots Festival. AHP is offering you an all expenses paid series of professional concerts starting Sat. Oct. 15th at the Liverpool University Academy, moving through the northwest and southwest of Britain and culminating in a performance on the Sonicbids’ stage at the Glasgow Festival on Sat. Oct. 22nd.

Acts applying from the UK, you will be considered for both the Liverpool and Glasgow festival and by receiving a free 6 months membership to Sonicbids included in your application, 100’s (over 500 at the last count) of festival and music showcase and record label opportunities in the US, Canada and Europe will be available to you. British blues bands might also be interested in Sonicbids’ partnership with the Blues Foundation and the 100’s of international festivals they alone represent.

For more information on these festivals, you can visit their respective websites: http://www.liverpoolbluesandrootsfestival.com/ and http://www.glasgowbluesandrootsfestival.com/

All acts selected will receive remuneration for their performances based on fair local rates and festival stage rates. International travel costs, work permits, transport rental in the UK and accommodation will be covered by AHP. Artists keep all revenue from sale of their own merchandise. AHP is not responsible for out of pocket expenses on the road or transport to or from international airports of artist’s origin. Although there are no age restrictions on musicians, individuals under the age of 18 must have written permission from parents or legal guardians. Artists who are selected are expected to behave in accordance with UK laws and to act as ambassadors for their country. People behaving like Oasis in the US will be pilloried and kicked off the tour (you can’t play while you’re in the stocks being pelted with rotten English root vegetables). A healthy love of English ale, while not a prerequisite, is recommended. If you’re a vegan don’t worry, as we have vegan beer too (and of course we’ll accommodate your food needs as well).
