Under The Radar Sampler 10th Anniversary Issue

Under the Radar (UTR) is a 5-times-per-year indie music magazine that covers up-and-coming and emerging artists, as well as more established bands. UTR reaches 160,000 + young and hip readers and is distributed throughout North America, Europe and elsewhere. They are seeking four Sonicbids artists for the upcoming 10th Anniversary Issue. Selected artists will receive editorial in print magazine or website, as well as inclusion on their famous digital sampler that accompanies each issue. In addition to emerging artists, UTR invites other current bands to appear alongside you on the sampler like The Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens, Foster the People, and more./n/nDue to a change in their production schedule, Under the Radar has extended their submission deadline to Wednesday, September 7th (11:59pm EST). Selected artists will receive editorial in the print magazine or website, as well as inclusion on the famous UTR digital sampler that accompanies each issue. In addition to emerging artists, Under the Radar invites other current bands to appear alongside you on the sampler. Sonicbids artists ECHOREV, Sundress, Wolf Ram Heart, and White Life appeared alongside tracks from The Fleet Foxes, Okkervil River, Suede, Toro Y Moi, Dale Earnhart Jr. Jr. and others in the Spring 2011 Under the Radar Sampler. Other past bands to appear on Under the Radar’s samplers have included: Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens, Loney Dear, Here We Go Magic, Telekinesis, Yuck, Foster the People, Smith Westerns, and many more.

Under the Radar mainly covers indie rock and indie pop and is most interested in artists from those genres. Although most of its features are on indie rock bands, Under the Radar also has special subsections in the album reviews section devoted to Americana/alt-country, electronica, hip-hop, jazz, reissues, and singles/EPs. The magazine is also interested in shoegazing, space-rock, and soul groups. The magazine generally does not cover these genres: hardcore, metal, punk, hard rock, pop-punk, mainstream pop, smooth jazz, mainstream country, classical, blues, and new age.
