The Brass Taps, the campus pub of the University of Guelph in Guelph, ON, has been entertaining and serving the students, staff, faculty and alumni of the University since its opening in 1974. The campus pub is operated by the University Centre Administration with the guidance and overview of the campus community and students.

There is a host of events and showcases presented over various dates between September and April (Fall and Winter Semester). These range from small local and intimate performances to larger concerts and community events (i.e. homecoming, annual ball). In addition to the Brass Taps with a capacity of 450 people, they occupy and maintain a community hall with a capacity of 950 people and regularly operate events through the Sleeman Centre (capacity 5000) and the River Run Centre.

Local, regional, and national acts are all welcome. The Brass Taps typically books 8-12 acts per semester. All genres of music and comedy are welcome and compensation is based on the type of event and performer abilities. The range of compensation averages between $500 to $1000 with food and beverage hospitality. Accommodations and travel costs are the responsibility of the performer.

Past performers have included Bedouin Soundclash, K-OS, The Salads, Jim Carrey, Robert Munich, Ani Defranco, Sarah Harmer and the great Tragically Hip.
