Summary

Back by popular demand, the CNC Music Productions "Unsigned Artist Search" is now in its second year. An excellent opportunity for up and coming songwriters and bands, the winner receives free recording and production of a 5-song EP, CD layout and design, website design and a month-long residency at a Boston club.



Five runners up will receive four free hours of recording time. All applicants will receive a free critique of their music and overall potential as a performing artist. Contest will be judged on musicality, originality, creativity and overall marketability.



When asked about the experience of winning the 2005 Unsigned Artist Search, Paul Sentz from This Car Up says, "Recording at CNC has been a creative, organic experience. The environment is very relaxed, but still professional. This cozy studio has let us explore our creativity to the fullest. CNC has been very enthusiastic with us and we are happy working with them."



Please limit submissions to original music in the genres of rock, pop, R&B, folk and country.



Applicants do not need to reside in the Boston area, but travel will not be paid for out-of-town winners. Applicants must not be signed to any record label or involved in any management contracts. Applicants who have already released a professionally produced, full-length CD will be not be considered. Submission fees are not refundable.



Judges include Nate Christy, Producer; Christie Leigh, Business Manager; Ricky Berger, Entertainment Lawyer; Serge Randolph of Randolph Entertainment; and Kit Wilcox of Kitastrophy Records.



The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2006. Winner will be notified in writing by December 15th, 2006.
