Summary

University of Pennsylvania is seeking artists to perform at their 2009 Spring Fling weekend, taking place April 17-18, 2009. Since 1973, Spring Fling has been the ultimate student festival at the school, giving students a chance to revel in the sun before final exams begin. Thousands of students descend onto the Quad, Hill Field, College Green, and Wynn Commons to dance, eat, party, and enjoy a day full of surprises.

Hosted by the Social Planning and Events Committee (SPEC), each Spring Fling consists of a carnival with games and events, a concert hosting the hippest new bands, and the Quad Concerts, which showcase some of the hottest local bands and performers.

Live music performances will take place from 11am-6pm on Friday and Saturday. Timeslots are for 15-30 minutes. Music performances consist of a wide variety of genres and styles, including electric and acoustic. Local and acts touring through the area are encouraged to submit. A PA system and sound technician are provided. Approximately 14,000 students come and go throughout the entire weekend.

There is no compensation for artists at this event, but the event will provide you with plenty of exposure to a large number of college students in the Philadelphia area.
