Upstairs Cabaret Series 2008-2009

During September 2008, Statlers in Toronto, Ontario, will host the Upstairs Cabaret Series in the Polar Ice Lounge, with one-hour New York style cabaret shows. This intimate 40+ seat venue will feature a broad range of solo artists from the theatre, standards, jazz, roots, singer/songwriter, and pop in an exclusive environment that evokes the small performance venues that dot Manhattan's nightclub scene. Each hand-picked artist will bring into the room a unique show created just for us.



Artists who wish to take advantage of this unusual opportunity to be seen in an intimate showcase room in Toronto's downtown core should submit their EPK for consideration. They are booking Friday and Saturday performances through June of 2009, but the room will also be available for industry showcasing, record previews and other small-scale industry-related events.



Upstairs Cabaret is an acoustic series with sound reinforcement and proper staging for a quality presentation, however, industry presenters may produce to their own specifications.



Artists appearing in the Upstairs Cabaret series will be given publicity, promotion, and production assistance. The house keeps a token amount from the door to offset the cost of the presentation. Sonicbids members will be given priority and a number of slots will be made available (as required) during the 2008-2009 season.
