The Alternate Root has released several successful compilations online for download that have provided valuable promotion for independent artists. It receives songs from artists and have their fans and those of the magazine they would like to hear on the sampler.
The Alternate Root compilation CD is accepting all roots music, including Americana, blues, retro soul, folk, indie rock, bluegrass, and alt country. Selected songs will be voted for on The Alternate Root site. The Top 20 artists are selected and added to the compilation with songs from established artists who have submitted songs for the sampler. The sampler is distributed online through the Alternate Root site to fans and music industry professionals.
