Valley Jazz Festival 2006 (Australia)

Perform at the 2006 Valley Jazz Festival in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia! The festival is Brisbane’s only multi-venue jazz festival with free and low cost events in 12 live music venues in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley entertainment precinct. With around 40 acts over 6 days, we support local and emerging talent and provide a platform for presenting national and international artists. Selected artists will be compensated for their performance.



Although inclusive of all styles, the festival focuses on artists with original and innovative material, giving it a more experimental edge. We aren’t trying to tell people what jazz is. We are presenting a broad cross-section of styles and letting audiences make up their own minds.



Next year's Valley Jazz Festival will be held in April 2006 – from Monday April 24th to Sunday April 30th – and will continue to showcase the most compelling and innovative accomplishments in jazz and creative improvised music, while maintaining our commitment to the community through affordable ticket prices and free events.



In the event that we are unable to include your act in this year’s program it is usually not on the grounds of quality but rather factors of cost, duplication of something we already have, or acts that don’t fit into the style of the festival. Program selection decisions are final and no further correspondence regarding final selection can be entered into.



Please note: All travel to Brisbane and accommodations must be arranged and paid for by the artist. The festival will organize your shuttle both ways between the festival/accommodation and Brisbane airport.



The annual Valley Jazz Festival was founded in 2004 by Jazz Queensland www.jazzqueensland.com and experienced considerable growth in 2005 with larger audiences and additional performance venues.
