Varsity Theater

The Varsity Theater, located in Minneapolis, MN, is a venue capable of hosting everything from traditional weddings, Baroque chamber music recitals, and Shakespearian drama to modern dance performances, psychedelic folk festivals, and cutting-edge New Media trade shows. It is looking to book local and regional bands to open for national touring acts as well as perform live on 'emerging artists bills', 5 nights per week. The Varsity Theater is looking to book local and regional bands to open for national touring acts as well as perform live on 'emerging artists bills', 5 nights per week. The Varsity Theater welcomes a wide variety of musical genres, except for hip hop, metal, hardcore and screamo.

Here’s what selected artists get:

• Artists will be compensated. This amount will be negotiated at the time of booking.


• Touring artists have the option of staying in local hotels at a discounted rate


• Exposure while performing live in front of 750 people (at capacity).

A sound system and a sound engineer will be provided at the venue, but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and additional equipment. Only bands from Canada and the US are accepted at this time.



About the venue:

The Varsity can be anything to anybody. It is known for being one of the best music clubs in the Midwest, with a top notch sound and lighting systems and a comfortable and fun vibe. Live theater is also wonderful in the Varsity. It has the capabilities of doing large full blown stage musicals, or small dramas in-the-round.
The Varsity is like no other room that is rented for special events.
