Violet Femmes Volume 2 Compilation CD

RPW Records is a division of Magic Puddle Productions, who passionately support independent music and have been producing and promoting concerts and festivals for over 20 years.



RPW is pleased to announce we are producing a second Violet Femmes compilation CD of original women’s music. Violet Femmes Vol 2's goal is to showcase original music from the best emerging female artists on Sonicbids. Violet Femmes Vol. 2 will be distributed to radio, media and selected music press and industry leaders in the fall of 2008.

Volume 1 was enthusiastically received and featured on numerous radio shows and podcasts.

The CDs will also be available for sale on the RPW Records website, iTunes and CD Baby.



Artists selected to participate on the CD will also be invited to perform at the Vancouver Violet Femmes Showcase Concerts. These events will showcase the artists and their songs. (All travel costs to Vancouver are the responsibility of the artist.) The Violet Femmes CD and all artists personal CDs will be on sale, allowing music lovers and fans to purchase them at the event. Showcases are purely optional, and just an additional benefit to being on Vol 2, should you choose to perform in one.



In addition, all selected artists will receive 10 copies of the CD for their own use and also royalties for copies sold at our events and via the internet. This is the second Violet Femmes CD, and a wonderful opportunity to benefit from the interest and buzz created by Volume 1. Your profile will be raised via the Violet Femmes websites http://www.violetfemmes.ca, http://www.myspace.com/violetfemmes, http://www.reverbnation.com/violetfemmes and our facebook group etc.

RPW also has a blog at http://violetfemmesmusic.blogspot.com and a youtube channel featuring our artists at youtube.com/rpwmusic. This is a great way to attract industry recognition. Artists selected may also have their personal CDs distributed by RPW Records if they choose to do so.

RPW will also sign selected artists to a publishing administration contract and work to place their songs in TV and film.



Submissions are open to all music genres.



There are 5 slots on the disc reserved for Sonicbids artists who will have participation fees waived!



Please Note: Violet Femmes requires additional ‘selected’ artists to pay an extra fee directly to the promoter in order to participate. The following rates are per track, per volume and are in CND dollars - prices exclude GST (TAX):

# Unsigned and independent artists - $400 per track

# Signed artists - $600 per track



In May 2007 RPW Records presented a VIOLET FEMMES Showcase at NEW MUSIC WEST 08 and it was a sold out show.
