2006 Virgin College Mega Tour

Submit today for the chance to perform on the Emerging Artist Day Stage in the Village on the Virgin College Mega Tour 2006 - for the entire duration of the tour! The tour will be headlined by Yellowcard, Mae and Reeve Oliver. Plus, have your CD distributed in every single Virgin Megastore in America!



The 2006 VCMT tour will feature a daytime village on campuses that will include an “emerging artist” day stage, karaoke booth, contest give-a-ways and the latest games, new product demonstrations and gadgets for the college market. Last year’s tour reached over 65,000 college students on 17 college campuses – and this year’s tour promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Past performers included Michelle Branch, Gavin DeGraw, Cake, Gomez, Rooney, Joe Firstman, and Tyler Hilton.



In its third year, the Virgin College Mega Tour will take place in major college campuses in the US beginning on April 7, 2006 in Stockton, NJ and ending on May 6, 2006 in Columbus, OH (confirmed dates and locations listed on the page, others will be added as confirmed).



So, how do you get to go on the Virgin College Mega Tour?

1. Submit your EPK™ online through Sonicbids and select the Virgin Megastore market nearest you (see participating markets below).
   
2. Judges will select 16 finalists (one from each market) to participate in the next round.
   
3. If you are one of the 16 finalists you will be provided with a unique Virgin discount promo coupon code, which you will be responsible for promoting to everyone you know. Be creative! Use your fan list, web site, shows, etc. to get the word out.
   
4. The band/artist who has the most coupons redeemed will win the GRAND PRIZE slot on the Emerging Artist Stage Slot on VCMT and prize package!

Last year’s GRAND PRIZE winner was Sonicbids member, Marty Casey & Lovehammers – currently on tour with INXS and recently signed to Epic.



The Grand Prize Includes:

• Slot on the Emerging Artist Stage of VCMT for the entire duration of the tour
  
• Your CD placed in VCMT “end-caps” at all Virgin Megastores for a minimum of three weeks
  
• $2,500 USD in cash to cover your tour expenses

Genres accepted include: Alternative, Pop, Rock, Acoustic and Adult Contemporary.

The majority of your band’s members must live within 100 miles of one of the 16 participating Virgin Megastore markets: Phoenix, AZ; Anaheim, CA; Hollywood, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Ontario, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO, Miami, FL, Orlando, FL, Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Times Square, NY; Union Square, NY; Grapevine Mills, TX; Mockingbird Station, TX; and Salt Lake City, UT.
