They are looking for Native American musicians or songs about native themes, as this is a documentary on far northern reserves in Canada. Selected material will be used for opening/ closing themes, bridges between the segments and mood music. Not to mention, they are already invited to several film festivals, and have an excellent chance of getting TV licenses in Canada and the US.

To emphasize: Morrighan Films is looking for Aboriginal music, be it drumming, Inuit or native bands.

They are offering musicians the following deal:

1) Artists keep all rights except film synchronization/film distribution rights

2) Artists keep the Socan profits from TV broadcasts in Canada (and the worldwide equivalents)

3) Artists get a prorated percentage of net profits from the soundtrack CD, should there be one

4) Artists get film credit, MySpace or website link on their website

5) Artists receive a copy of the DVD for personal use

The company gets:

1) Free use of the song for the soundtrack, all film advertisement uses, and film related website uses, worldwide.

2) The option of negotiating a fair deal for a CD.

Because of both the current economy, and the subject matter, it has been difficult raising money. They can currently pay the costs of filming as long as they can get volunteers or deferred wages.

This documentary will celebrate the First Nations people’s will and strength while witnessing the current predicament in which they find themselves. Set on the Attawapiskat First Nation community, this documentary follows this Indian reservation, its current third world conditions, and the heroes of the community working at creating awareness and change. The film explores the negative and positive effects that their physical proximity to western civilization has had on their lifestyles.
