Summary
The Wakarusa Festival is now in its 3rd year and has been growing exponentially. Wakarusa differs from other festivals of its kind in that it strives to keep the music at the center of the experience. Although camping, vendors, and many other attractions add to the event, the music is non-stop and at the forefront. Patrons can come for one day or all 4! Last year, more than 15,000 people attended. This yearÂ’s event will be held June 8-10, 2006 in Lawrence, Kansas.
With over 80 bands participating on 6 stages there is something for everyone. Past exciting names include Wilco, Umphrey's McGee, String Cheese Incident, North Mississippi Allstars, Gov't Mule, Particle, Ozomatli, Junior Brown, Matisyahu, Neko Case, Son Volt, and many many more.
There are two slots reserved for Sonicbids members. Selected artists will receive $250 for their set. All genres accepted.
Please note that artists have the option to submit to Battlerusa for an opportunity to win a performance slot through a battle of the bands. You can submit to Battlerusa through Sonicbids as well.
