Summary

Musician's Friend Token Listing - Free Submission. American Festivals provides a wide variety of entertainment and on September 24, 2011 they will join with San Diego City College to present the Water for Children Awareness Music Festival, near the historic Balboa Park in San Diego. The entertainment falls into a mix of different genres. American festival and the San Diego City College is looking for both music and non-music (magicians, comedians, hypnotists, etc.) performers for several different on campus opportunities throughout the festival, including a battle of the bands with a $1,000 cash prize./n/nAmerican Festivals provides a wide variety of entertainment and on September 24, 2011 they will join with San Diego City College to present the Water for Children Awareness Music Festival, near the historic Balboa Park in San Diego. The entertainment falls into a mix of different genres. American festival and the San Diego City College is looking for both music and non-music (magicians, comedians, hypnotists, etc.) performers for several different on campus opportunities throughout the festival. The entire event will benefit the San Diego ChildrenÂ’s Coallition.


Battle of the Bands:

Bands performing are competing in a Battle of the Bands Contest to win a 1st place cash prize of $1,000. A wide variety of music is welcome at the Battle of the Bands. Local bands must be able to draw at least 100 people to the event and should be environmentally aware.


Competing bands:


  • 1st place cash prize of $1,000

  • Judges include A-list celebrities and industry professionals

  • Artists may sell merchandise

  • Sets will be 45 minutes

  • Artists traveling over 250 miles will be compensated and can be provided with lodging/ hospitality

Non-music Acts:

The American Festival is looking for magicians and comedians who have experience performing for a college audience. Past performers include East of Echoe, Papa Jones, Communist Kayte.

Other opportunities:

East Village and the San Diego Gaslamp is looking for local or national musicians to come perform at the campus. With a capacity of 13,000 people, they are interested in acoustic, singer/songwriter, folk and other mellow acts for their Wednesday night shows. There are also several additional performance spots on campus, including the San Diego High School, with a capacity of 1500.

Submitting artists will be considered for all on campus opportunities, and American Festival Entertainment will ultimately decide where each artist will perform.
