The Wave Gathering 2009 in Asbury Park, New Jersey is an annual festival featuring emerging artists from around the country. Last year the festival hosted 200 artists at over 20 venues. The festival will not only host numerous musical acts, but will also feature panels of professionals discussing many of today’s biggest issues and subjects in the ever changing music business.

The Wave Gathering will run the weekend of June 19 - 21, 2009, starting Friday night and continuing through Sunday evening.

Last year, The Wave Gathering attracted nearly 5000 people at popular venues such as The Saint, The Stone Pony, The Wonder Bar, The Paramount Theatre, The Asbury Lanes, Trillium’s Antiques, Style Rocket, Carmine's, Twisted Tree Café, Brickwall Annex, Market in the Middle, Mattison P ark, Plan B, America’s Cup, Wish You Were Here Courtyard, Munch and many others, plus several of the city’s restaurants and art galleries.

The festival has ushered in the rebirth of the city along with many new businesses interacting with the music community of Asbury Park.

This year there are a number of free venues in the area that will be hosting events and performances as well.

The Wave Gathering 2009 is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists from all genres for general performance consideration. Set lengths usually last 20-30 minutes in length. Artists are compensated with program/radio advertising, free admission for all three days, and all artists keep all proceeds of merchandise without any WG house taking any percentage. There is no fee to play the festival. This is a great chance for any artist to perform at the most popular and well established New Jersey Shore music festival.
