Up-and-coming music publication What the Sound is looking for cool, new artists to feature on their website. They've booked gigs at cool venues like The Satellite, Hi-Hat, and Los Globos. They write dope articles about dope bands, so why wouldn't you want to be featured? What the Sound is currently looking for Sonicbids artists this winter.

The Opportunity

Apply to be featured on What the Sound's website, and possibly book gigs with them. They want to feature the best new music in LA so their readers are exposed to up-and-coming acts. What the Sound is looking for awesome bands to play throughout the winter. This is an ongoing opportunity to apply, and we'll find the best date for your band. This is an amazing opportunity to get active in a super progressive music scene and start building a fan base and relationships with one of the best venues in town.

The Band

  • We're looking for bands of all genres that play original music. We love Rock, Jazz, Folk, Acoustic, Country, Blues and Soul acts, but we're open to all genres if it's good music


  • This is an amazing opportunity for local and nationally touring artists. If you have an amazing sound and looking to gain a wider audience, this is the gig for you!

  • Bands must be willing to heavily promote the show if chosen to play

  • Bands are able to sell merch on-site

  • All acts applying must meet the criteria that we look for, lyrics, stage presence, style and artists must have a fanbase

  • Acts must have a solid online presence 

  • Bands must be actively playing shows 

The Gig

  • There are many different opportunities to use What The Sound as a platform to get visibility and gain a wider fan base:  could be an interview or a headlining gig 
  • Capacity for venues they book range from 75-200+
  • PA provided
  • Some Backline is provided
