Whidbey Island Emerging Artist Festival

AlliKat Records, together with the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts present the Whidbey Island Emerging Artist Festival (WIFest) February 27-28, 2009. This premier event will feature 2 full days of original music at the prestigious Whidbey Island Center for the Arts along with 4 satellite venues in beautiful, seaside Langley, WA just 25 miles NW of Seattle. WIFest will fill 20 performance slots with Sonicbids artists.



WIFest will feature original music by emerging (unsigned) artists in a variety of genres including: acoustic, adult contemporary, alternative, avant-garde, electronic/dance, folk, funk, hip hop/rap, pop, rock, singer/songwriter and soul. In addition to showcase performance slots the 2 day festival will include workshops and panel discussions by industry professionals.



Artists must be from the Northwest region (this includes Oregon, Washington, Idaho, N. California and British Columbia) and play original music. Cover bands and tribute bands will not be considered. All artists selected will receive modest compensation (negotiated at the time of booking). Compensation will vary depending on the performance venue. Lodging with local volunteer families is available upon request. Travel and hotel expenses are not provided.
