Summary

Wildflower! is an award-winning, multi-day eclectic arts and music festival that draws over 50,000 attendees! Held annually in May, the festival celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2007. The festival is held in Richardson, Texas - just a few minutes north of Dallas!

Festival programming includes two main outdoor performance stages, the Acoustic Café, the award-winning Singer/Songwriter Contest and Stage, the Budding Talent Competition as well as the biggest street party ever on Friday night, May 18! There’s also the family friendly Nortel Kidz Korner, strolling entertainers, buskers and acrobats, lots of interactive displays and exhibits, the Wildflower! Marketplace, the City of Richardson Petting Zoo, the Art Guitar Auction, and the Taste of Texas Food Court!

All local/regional performers are paid a stipend and allowed to keep 100% of band merchandise and CD sales.

Some of the artists who previously performed at Wildflower! include: Peter Frampton, Blues Traveler, Hank Williams, Jr., Cheap Trick, The Doobie Brothers, Collective Soul, The Go Gos, The Dixie Chicks, En Vogue, The Polyphonic Spree, Miranda Lambert, Huey Lewis and the News, The Click Five, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Jimmie Vaughan, The Neville Brothers, Lisa Loeb, Joe Ely, KC and the Sunshine Band, Wilson Pickett, Jonny Lang, The Robert Cray Band, Tanya Tucker, Bowling For Soup, Roberta Flack, Shawn Colvin, Michael McDonald, Loverboy, Cowboy Mouth, The Old 97s, Leon Russell, Rick Springfield, Sister Hazel, The Spinners, Ruthie Foster, Gregg Rolie of Santana, Kenny Loggins, The Beach Boys, and Blue Oyster Cult.

Wildflower! will review submissions from local and regional bands only. As much as we would love to hear from bands around the country and bring them to Texas, our budget simply does not allow us to support the costs associated with non-touring acts.

Please note: Submissions will remain open for the Wildflower Performing Songwriter Contest until April 1. Click here to see that opportunity.
