Wilsonic Festival 2009

Wilsonic is an international music festival, held annually in Bratislava, Slovakia since 2000 with an attendance of 4,000 people each day. The festival is a spectacular celebration of today's cutting-edge music, connecting the best elements of music fused within the atmosphere of a concert, a club and a party. It is the largest festival of its kind in Central & Eastern Europe, working as a hub as well as an annual platform for artists and music professionals in the region. This year’s festival will be held on June 12-13, 2009.



Each year, the festival features more than 60 artists. The primary focus is on local Central and Eastern European artists, musicians and producers which share the stage with their critically acclaimed, international counterparts. This allows us to keep a healthy dose of up-and-coming regional artists, best new international acts as well as the audience-demanded global names. Selected artists will be compensated on a case-by-case basis. There one slot reserved for an international Sonicbids act, which will be paid a $1000 travel stipend.



For Wilsonic Festival 2009 we are looking for acts which have a new, authentic and original approach of making music. Everything with an edge is on our radar, be it indie, electronic, advanced, experimental or somewhere in between. We are interested in catchy pop songs as well as cutting-edge experiment, wall-of-sound shoegazing or jazzy electronic extravaganza. Please note that Wilsonic doesn't showcase traditional Pop/Rock, Ska or Metal bands.
