WKU Java City - Noontime Concert Series

Since opening several years ago, Java City has quickly established itself as a very popular spot on Western Kentucky University’s campus. It is looking to book solo artists and bands to perform live at the venue for its noon time concert series. Java City accepts a variety of genres, and looks for music that will appeal to a university crowd. Artists will be compensated $85 and after, will be considered for college center gigs in the future./n/nSince opening several years ago, Java City has quickly established itself as a very popular spot on Western Kentucky University’s campus. Java City accepts a variety of genres, and looks for music that will appeal to a university crowd. While the venue has a consistent crowd of concert goers, there have been crowds as big as 300-400 people perched all over the patio and hillside when Java City has had speakers and bands. The venue provides a full sound system with some mics, as well as a sound engineer.

Past performers include Tommy Womack, Brigid Kaelin, Don Thomason, Jamie Fox, Anne MacFie, David Olney, as well as duets like The Gypsy Nomads, Amber Rose and D, Will and Nate, Zoe Speaks, and Shadowdancer. The venues has hosted gospel choirs, classical and jazz musicians like John Cipolla, Heidi Pintner, the WKU Jazz Ensemble, and Noizejoi, as well as rock bands like Technology vs Horse, Chest Rockwell, and Miss Umbrella.
