Summary

The Boston University Women's Center is hosting Women Rock on Thursday, December 8, 2005 on BU's campus at BU Central, an on-campus hang-out spot for students. The event is a benefit concert for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) and will be open to students and non-students.

For many years the event hosted folk artists – until last year when we expanded our genres and had The Fun (punk) and EJ Labb & The Free Association (hip-hop, pop) play – and the show was a huge success! There is one performance slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist. We accept all types of genres and prefer bands with female members.

Because the event is a benefit show, artists will volunteer their time to perform, but is a great opportunity to get their name out to the greater Boston community through our promotion of the event.

The BU Women's Center is a student organization that promotes awareness and debate to all Boston University students on feminist issues. We provide resources about local women's services and we create a supportive social environment in which women and men can enrich their awareness of themselves and their world.
