THE WORLD SERIES OF ROCK AND ROLL - AN EVENT THAT WILL APPROVE ENTRY FOR ALL ORIGINAL MICHIGAN BAND SUBMISSIONS!

The "Season of Rock" is returning to Michigan. The World Series of Rock and Roll is Michigan's largest local music showcase and is the premiere event of the year for groups of all genres of music.

This year, bands will flex their promotional muscles to attract fans that will vote for their favorite bands online and live at The Intersection nightclub in Grand Rapids, MI. The World Series of Rock isn't meant to be a fierce competition. It's not just about who's the best or who has the most fans. It's all about the music! This event is open to bands of all genres: rock, blues, jazz, bluegrass, jam bands, hip-hop, and any other type of music from Michigan. As long as your original band is from Michigan, you'll be accepted into the first round of The World Series Of Rock and Roll!

The World Series of Rock 2005 will take place in four segments. Bands will be placed in virtual clubs online by their genres for the first two rounds. Their music will be available for fans to listen to and then vote for their favorite band and music.

The "Pre-Season" runs from May 1st through May 14, 2005. The top 48 bands will move on to the "Regular Season" of play that takes place from May 16 to May 29, 2005. The top 24 bands from that round will move on to the "Playoffs" which will be held with LIVE PLAY, on June 3,10,17 & 24 2005 at The Intersection, a nightclub in Grand Rapids, MI. The championship will also be held live, in July 2005 at The Intersection, where six bands will be playing for prizes, cash, and music gear.

The winning band will be performing at The Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis, IN, which is being held on July 21,22 & 23 2005. West Michigan Music is a featured partner at the MMS and will be hosting a regional Michigan showcase for MMS in early spring.
