Wychwood Music Festival 2011

The deadline is coming soon to submit to the Wychwood Music Festival 2011, taking place at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire on the weekend of 3rd - 5th June 2010. They are looking to select 3-10 bands through Sonicbids.

The festival site has a capacity of 7,500 people and a license that allows entertainment until 3 AM. Selected artists will receive a guest pass for each band member./n/nWychwood Music Festival 2011 will take place at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire on the weekend of 3rd - 5th June 2010. Idyllically set beneath the beautiful Prestbury hills, the site is divided into the Festival Village (encompassing the Main Stage Arena, The Big Top, Workshop areas, Global Trade Village and Healing Gardens) and the Campsite which is a short distance from the Festival Village on 'centre course'. The festival site has a capacity of 7,500 people and a licence that allows entertainment until 3 AM.

The three day festival features music, comedy, workshops, cinema, a children's literature festival, and more. The 2010 line-up included The Happy Mondays, Levellers, Seth Lakeman with supporting acts including New Beautiful South, Lightning Seeds, Justin Currie (Del Amitri), Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds, through to John Otway, Dreadzone, Kila, Pauline Black (The Selector), Toumani Diatabe, The Leisure Society, The Travelling Band, John Otway, King Creosote and many more. While there's no compensation for performances, selected artists will receive a guest pass for each band member. They are also looking to select 3-10 bands through Sonicbids!

The Wychwood Music Festival was launched in 2005 by a group of festival enthusiasts wanting to create an intimate and thrilling weekend festival experience, delivering not only the best acts of the day, but up and coming music, and some other specialties you might not ordinarily come across!

The Wychwood Music Festival quickly gained a national audience and reputation thanks to its eclectic mix of music and creative programming. Time Out described the Festival as "an excellent hybrid of the Big Chill, WOMAD and The Cambridge Folk Festival." The Independent described it as 'a bijou Glastonbury' and it was nominated for Best Family Festival at the UK Festival Awards for the 4 times in a row!
