A: Yes.

A: August 15, 2007.

Q: When will the selected bands be announced?

A: August 20, 2007. Selected bands will be listed on the X&Y Fest web site and MySpace page.

Q: What if a band selected is unavailable to perform at X&Y Fest?

A: Bands submitting should leave the date of X&Y Fest open in the event they are selected. If needed, a replacement band will be selected among those that submitted. Replacement bands, if any, may be announced as late as one day prior to X&Y Fest.

Q: Why do bands have to pay $15 to submit their material to X&Y Fest?

A: There is a guaranteed prize of $1,000, with $500 of the $1,000 to the top band on the Gen X Stage and $500 of the $1,000 to the top band on the Gen Y Stage. The submission fees fund the awarding of the prize money. What's left of the submission fees, if any, may fund a portion of the overall expense of promoting and producing the festival.

Q: Out of all the bands that submit, who selects the 24 that will perform at X&Y Fest?

A: The X&Y Fest Artist Selection Committee, consisting of those from both Gen X & Gen Y, and compromised of entertainment executives, artists (both signed and unsigned) and music fans.

Q: Who picks the top Gen X and Gen Y bands that each receive the $500 prize money?
A: The crowd. Voting stations will be set up on-site at the festival.

Q: Is it free to vote?
A: Yes.

Q: Can a vote be placed more than once for more than one band?

A: Yes. A vote for more than one band can be placed more than once, but only one vote for one band can placed at a time and votes cannot be placed by the same person back-to-back.

Q: Can a vote be placed more than once for the same one band?

A: Yes. A vote for the same band can be placed more than once, but only one vote for one band can placed at a time and votes cannot be placed by the same person back-to-back.

Q: Can a band member vote for their own band?
A: Yes.

Q: Isn't the prize money going to be awarded to the band that is able to simply bring the most number of fans, family members and friends to the festival that continually vote for them?

A: Having a draw is certainly a factor, but there will also be a large number of music fans at the event that could be "won over" by a band they've never seen live before and motivated to vote for them. The venue, The Abacoa Town Center in Jupiter, on any given Saturday also has built-in traffic due to it's many shops and restaurants, so those that frequent Abacoa may also be exposed to a performance they find engaging and participate in the festival by casting a vote. The best chance for a win may go to the band that can both deliver for their fan base as well as "draw- in" others in the crowd by their performance.

Q: What does a band that is not awarded the prize money get out of performing at the X&Y Fest?

A: A great stage and sound situation at a great outdoor venue in Palm Beach County, a performance spot at a music festival and a chance at performing for a crowd of live music fans. For bands without one, it's a chance to build a fan base. For those with one, it's a show to offer their existing fans base and a chance to add to it.
