Your Inner Vagabond

Your Inner Vagabond coffeehouse and world lounge is actively seeking musicians and performance artists for immediate openings for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. There will be 50-60 slots available per month, with 5 slots reserved exclusively for Sonicbids artists. They are also seeking storytellers and educators for Saturday afternoon, and music and dance workshop leaders for Sunday afternoon. A local draw is not necessary for booking, but is preferred.



Your Inner Vagabond accepts mainly traditional and contemporary world music artists (yes this can include American music!), but are open to many types of fusion and experimental music as well. They also accept: Latin, reggae, bluegrass, ambient, world DJ's, dance music and more. No singer/songwriters will be accepted, as the venue is looking for music outside the norm.



Your Inner Vagabond will contact artists no less than one month prior to the show. Artists will be compensated, and specifics will be arranged on a case-by-case basis. A stage, sound system, limited vocal and instrument mics, personal monitors and two sound techs are provided unless other arrangements are made. There is a large floor for dancing as well as comfortable seating. The venue capacity is 200 people.



Performers have included Ishtar (traditional bellydance music), Agnes Wired for Sound (Industrial), Elliot Sussman and the Dukes with Ukes (old time Americana), Khafif (Balkan and Middle-Eastern music and dance), Pandemic DJ's (spinning world music and Turkish psychadelic), Nicholas Ragheb (Turkish Doumbek), Zafira Dance Company (bellydance), Ana Vey (old time Vaudvillian jazz), Machete (Puerto Rican), among many others.
